York Region District School Board is seeking Proposals for the annual inventory, and safety inspections of fixed and portable power equipment in Broad Based Technology and Auto Shops.  This contract will also include minor maintenance repairs (under $1,000, first year of contract only) and minor safety repairs (under $500).  This relationship will allow the Board to ensure that we are purchasing quality service at a competitive price, while improving management reporting and reducing material and administrative costs.

 

 

There are approximately 34 secondary schools and administrative buildings throughout the York Region District School Board that have broad based technology and auto shops.  Within these locations there are approximately 20 mixed technologies facilities, 36 wood based facilities, 1 sheet metal shops, 5 machine facilities, 15 welding facilities, 21 auto transportation facilities, 12 cosmetology and 16 culinary facilities.  As a result, there are approximately 126 shop areas in total to be visited which require yearly inspections.  

 

The Board spends approximately $100,000 per year for inspection Service required.  These numbers are estimates only and should not be construed as a guarantee; rather it is shown to provide an indication of the potential of this Contract. 

The Board is also requesting separate lump sum pricing to complete asset tagging of all equipment, and  separate lump pricing to complete shop layout drawings.  Please refer to the documents for further information.

The Board has schools in each of the Region’s nine area municipalities – Aurora; East Gwillimbury; Georgina; Markham; Newmarket; Richmond Hill; Vaughan; Whitchurch-Stouffville; and the Township of King.
