| Description: |
The York Region District School Board is seeking bid submissions for Special Education Equipment- supply, installation, support and training for Special Equipment Amount (SEA) claims and other requirements for the schools and students of the York Region District School Board on an as-required basis. This partnership will allow the Board to ensure that we are purchasing quality goods and service at a competitive price, while improving management reporting and reducing material and administrative costs. The Board spends approximately $950,000 per year for special education equipment. This is an estimate only and should not be construed as a guarantee; rather it is shown to provide an indication of the potential of this Contract. The Ministry of Education Special Equipment Amount (SEA) provides funding to school boards to assist with the costs of equipment essential to support students with special needs, where the need for specific equipment is recommended or determined by a qualified professional. This equipment is to provide students with access to the Ontario curriculum or a board determined program and to attend school. If the Ministry changes the SEA funding model the Board reserves the right to modify or terminate this Agreement. York Region District School Board issues a separate purchase order for each individual student and their required equipment. It is mandated by the Board, that all persons who are in direct contact with students, shall obtain a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC), as performed by local police authorities. By submitting a proposal for this contract, the successful Vendor agrees to obtain PVSC for all employees who will be working at any Board location prior to any work commencing, should Board regulations change at any point in the future. The Proponent is responsible to deliver assembled equipment to the designated school. Proponents are hereby invited to propose the lowest net prices, including all delivery charges for which the Proponent is prepared to furnish the goods and/or services requested herein, in accordance with the guidelines expressed in the enclosed document. |
